Lavender Pauline Molloy Natural Therapies

Aromatherapy

Therapeutic use of essential oils i.e. plant essences with healing properties.

Application of oils is by massage using carrier oils. Essential oils enter blood stream via pores in the skin and are then transported round the body to organs and tissues.

See essential oils

Application can also be by:

  • Inhalation
  • Bathing
  • Vapourisation

Oils are blended synergistically; each oil enhances effect of the others. Blends are tailored to the individual's need.

A full consultation prior to treatment is necessary to determine medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, etc.

Results of consultation helps with choice of oils and the type and frequency of massage, together with any contra-indications.

Massage

  • Stimulates circulation, nourishing tissues and removing waste products thereby enhancing healing.
  • Relaxes, releasing stress and encouraging sleep.
  • Re-vitalises, increasing energy levels.
  • Detoxifies.
  • Releases physical and muscular tension, enhancing flexibility of joints.

Stress release can eliminate stress related symptoms e.g. headaches, digestive disorders, aches and pains, irritability, insomnia and exhaustion.

Reflexology

Every organ of the body has a 'reflex area' on a particular area of the body. These reflex areas interlink so that the whole of the body is mapped out on the foot. Stimulation of the reflexes encouages healing of the part of the body to which that reflex relates.

Treatment, normally for about an hour overall, will initially simply relax the feet so that the stimulation of the reflexes which follows can be more effective.

The reflexology massage will have the following benefits:

  • Increase circulation
  • Detoxify
  • Clear energy channels
  • Relax
  • Reduce stress
  • Balance

Reflexology is a holistic treatment which works on the whole body and not just the areas affected by the symptoms. This balancing effect upon the whole of the body encourages healing.

Full consultation will always be offered. The benefits of this are:

  • Establishment of full medical history including illnesses, symptoms and lifestyle
  • Establishment of contra-indications

After care advice:

  • Drink plenty of water or herbal teas
  • Avoid stimulants e.g. caffeine and alcohol
  • Eat a light diet
  • Relax

Healing

Aims to restore balance physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually by offering universal energy, removing blockages in energetic system and balancing energies of subtle bodies.

Imbalance or blockage leads to symptoms of illness; balancing and release of blockages may lead to reduction or release of symptoms. The aim is to to restore balance with respect to the client's higher self/spiritual essence. A 'cure' would be a side effect of this re-balancing. Subsequent to the treatment, the client will often find themself responding differently to situations; for example, in relationships they become more self aware and have a more positive attitude.

The healer is a facilitator for the client's own healing.

Healing offered is non-denominational and does not conflict with the religious or spiritual beliefs of clients. Healing is always offered in a context which respects, and is appropriate for, clients' spiritual beliefs or the absence thereof.

Pauline is a member of the College of Healing which is a professional association which requires a strict adherance to their code of conduct.

Spinal Touch

Light touch therapy with a powerful effect: re-aligning the body around its centre of gravity. Misalignment is assessed using a plum line and treatment is performed in accordance with the the direction and amount of tilt/misalignment. Spinal pressure points are stimulated along and either side of spine, buttocks, neck, shoulders, base of skull and abdomen.

Quite often, three treatments allow the body to re-align, although more chronic cases will require further treatments. Maintenance treatments are recommended.

Conditions that have been found to respond well to treatment:

  • Low back pain/lumbago
  • Slipped disc
  • Headaches
  • Eyestrain
  • Sciatica
  • Scoliosis
  • Back pain in pregnancy

In fact, many conditions are caused by spinal mis-alignment and can be helped in therapy e.g:

  • Asthma

  • Digestive problems

Holistic Integrative Counselling

Holistic Integrative Counselling incorporates various counselling models and emphasises a person-centred approach while also integrating energetics.

Counselling enhances healing by exploring mental and emotional states, and how they manifest physically. Counselling facilitates clients to work through emotional issues, to release blocked energy and allowing healing to occur. Works toward integrating personality with higher self, i.e: working spiritually.

Counselling enables client to bring up issues which are preventing their fulfilment and healing.

Holistic Integrative Counselling is client centered and incorporates: psychotherapy - releasing early trauma/ suppression; gestalt; healing; and working through current issues.

The client centered approach empowers the individual to discover their own solutions and pathways forward.
